Just in the interest of full accuracy and completeness: Chief Johnson actually made the do-rag comment in an interview with KGO-TV immediately following the community meeting Oct. 30, not during the meeting. During the actual meeting with residents about the recent spike in crimes, she qualified her comments by stating anyone stopped would have to match a description of the robber(s) -- presumably height, weight, age, clothing and other factors besides race and gender -- *and* that they would be stopped as "consensual contacts," meaning they would have to agree to being stopped and questioned.
