I understand the sentence to be referring to the legislative elections of 2006, which Hamas won. Thus, I read the sentence as:

“Fictional because Palestinian elections, deemed by international observers to be free and fair, don’t count [to the US and Israel] if the U.S.- and Israel-approved party [Fatah] loses [,] and [therefore Israel decides that] the winners [the Hamas legislators kidnapped and jailed by Israel after the election] get to sit for years in an Israeli jail.”

In short, the state is fictional because its electoral process is disregarded by the US and Israel.

Well, well, well. I suppose there is always another way to skin a cat. The last time it looked kind of bad for
you Ms.Lady. Tupac said it, “Keep ya Head Up!” Well it worked. Congrats to you all, and please have a safe journey
home. I will pray that others will send aid too. Sometimes
the former elected just keep quiet on issues that they know
they could help out with due to their knowledge of the system. President Carter tried too. I read all the negative comments and BS from many haters. I say right is right, and that is just what you are doing, right!
The deal is that some clowns were shooting rockets at
Isreal and raising havoc. I doubt if it was the majority
of elderly, women and children that were fried by white phosphurous bombs that have been used in vietnam days. A form of mass punishment went on there. Last week Mr.Obama
asked Isreal to lighten up. Thank you and good luck with the haters domestic and abroad. Godspeed.

People who breach law must be condemned.
Mrs. Mc Kinney should have been put into jail
for much longer.
In my opinion she does this publicity to gain popularity among the Muslims ,the American ones in first place.
It is her righr to to chhose the side of the the Gazans but she doesn’t surely show any impartiality in the Iarali Palestinian conflict.

Way to go Cynthia. The third time is a charm. All of us here in Cyprus with the Free Gaza movement have followed you across Egypt. We are proud of you and all of the rest of the people who stuck through the entire ordeal in order to deliver the supplies to Gaza. Now, we need to open the sea land so that the Gazans can actually get their own supplies delivered without the interference of Israel or of Egypt.
