I am calling to demand that Attorney General Jerry Brown drop all charges against Francisco Torres of the San Francisco 8. The state of California recognized that there was insufficient evidence to move forward with the case and dropped charges against four of the men. There is clearly no basis to prosecute Francisco Torres, the only remaining person facing charges in connection with this 38-year-old case, which is based on torture-coerced evidence. It is an incredible waste of money in this time of severe budget crisis to proceed with this case, and it is a huge injustice to Mr. Torres and his family. Drop all charges immediately!

Dear Attorney General Jerry Brown:
Thousands of people around the U.S. and the world have joined the call to drop all charges against the San Francisco 8. On July 6 the state of California recognized that there was insufficient evidence to move forward with the case and dropped charges against four of the men. There is clearly no basis to prosecute Francisco Torres, the only remaining person facing charges in connection with this 38-year-old case which is based on torture-coerced evidence. It would be an unconscionable waste of taxpayer money and an egregious injustice to Mr. Torres and his family to proceed with this case. I urge you in the strongest possible terms to drop the charges against Francisco Torres immediately!
Sincerely,

I don’t know if this will be published, but…
I have read some articles about the group here and all the talk is about them being members of the Black Panthers group and consider their prosecution to be an attack on this group and the good community work it has done. It is hard to find any information on them being members of the Black Liberation Army, a part of the Black Panthers but not the “social justice” component.
The BLA had a very different charter in their behavior. Just look at the arrest and suspect records of these guys.
Look into the reason that Herman Bell is not present for this picture at the top and that should give you a pretty good idea of this groups agenda.
Look into the assasination attempt on Sgt. Kowalski the day before Sgt. Young was “allegedly” killed by this group. Who was the registered owner of the car that was crashed during the attempt. (Richard O’neil)
What was Hank Jones ( better known as Henry Watson Jones Jr.) doing in Georgia in 1973. Convicted of bank robbery. The same crime he was a suspect for in 2 separate instances in SF. Along with another attempted murder of three police officers in South San Francisco in 1968.
I found all of this in just a few minutes on GOOGLE. I don’t trust any story on its face these days!
