My son is only 20 years old and was sent to Nevda State Prison for fighting at Desert Springs Prison. He was charged for battery and assult. Recieved another 1 1/2 years added to his time. He was supposd to get out June 5th 2011. Now it's Aug 2012 and he to do the intire time in the hole. Can he get a food package? Is he allowed to order commasary? I am so worried about him. Please if anyone knows marcel or anything about the privledges in the hole, please let me know something……Worried MOM

It is simple.Power corrupts.Absolutely.The changing of the wardens and guards should happen often. The people in the prisons are tortured,when let out,insane,furious, and more dangerous than ever. They can’t let them out,they will seek revenge. Power and money are in control. Rehabilitation is not even considered. We should take camera crews in the prisons and make sure we don’t have HITLER’S Little Army in charge. If you accidently kill someone in a car accident,chances are pretty good you would go to prison a very long time. Will you be maimed,raped, and tortured by guards and inmates alike? Would it make you a better person in society after having gone through such an experience?

I did time in Ely prison in 2001. During my time there I watched a man brutally beaten by guards who were laughing throughout the event. They broke his cheekbone with a baton and beat him mercilessly for several minutes, 4-5 guards with batons. After beating him he was put on a prison bus for 7 hours from Ely to Vegas without prior medical attention. 7 hours handcuffed on a bus with a broken jaw and cheekbone, and why? His nose lost contact with the wall during enspection. He wasn’t trying to run or talking or anything, his nose lost contact with the wall. And for this he was beaten to the extent of the gentleman in the picture on the top right.

We have rights. What makes them rights rather than privileges is that they cannot be taken away regardless of people like you who see them as less than human for a mistake they made once. Get caught stealing a loaf of bread and such mistreatment is perpetually justified? Or do they become human again upon release? Perhaps you should seek a job at Ely prison, you’ll find a lot of like minded people on staff.

that is not right how the inmates are treated like animals and they get fed worse than a dog would but the prisons make so much money off the inmates and there families and they cant even have a sanitary place to lay there head….
