It’s too bad too many American judges think children only need dads every other weekend. There are probably lots of dads that voluntarily walked away, but when judges only give dads limited visitation in over 90 percent of all contested custody cases, that absence isn’t voluntary. Most family courts today are nothing more than state-sponsored “baby’s mama drama”. Children need dads more than just the first day of school or every other weekend. Until “the system” and groups like the Black Star Project acknowledge that and start pushing for dads to have equal 50/50 time, children will continue to suffer (crispe.org) (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/VaEQUALParents/).
