Even though you write well which underlines your intellect don't agree with you. I do cherish your intelligence. You write exceptionally well, brilliantly. I am however, not endorsing your comment. Black people have actually made this monstrous life in the US for themselves. Why? When I get on the bus and I hear Black young men bragging about getting out of jail, raping, and being criminal I think, "who are these wild and disease infested monkeys out the jungle?" Yes, to a teeny tiny degree white America has contributed. However, when one is as brilliant as you are, there is not any excuse for what that savage did to those people. The playing field is not leveled by murdering innocent people regardless of who they are. For as much as you know Malika those four police officers might have been officers who advocate for Blacks. Now they are gone! Blacks in American must STOP this primitive, degrading, disgusting lifestyle. I do NOT identify with these type of people. Too many Blacks in America, predominantly the ones that invested in becoming educated have had enough of putrid Blacks who glorify the 'thug' life. This man clearly was rancid vomit! He should have been locked away and caged ages ago. The fact that the system was trying to rehabilitate him is an indicator of chance.PLEASE do not put people as Malcom X in the same category as Lovelle Mixon. Lovelle Mixon was like a Tupac, Shug Knight, and all those LOSERS who are refuse for animal feces! Malcom X was a man who had an agenda and it was not killing white people or raping etc… Actually that's what got Malcolm X killed. Elijah Mohammed's raping of young girls, impregnating them, and getting rid of them to cover his crimes. Elijah Mohammed was SCUM too! Be careful how you lobby for your ethnicity. Strong Black Female — how do we make this world a better place? How do we end harsh statements and misunderstandings? I agree with you that there is only a portion of the black community- or any community for that matter, that is a menace to themselves and society, and I am not educated enough on the subject to even pretend to understand who they are or why they do what they do. We have a young man in our own family that has embraced a bad life- he is a repeat offender, returning to prison regularly. He can't read, write or do arithmetic. We love him, but we fear him. We would like to help him, but don't know how.

All of this stuff online about the dead police officers, Mixon, Oscar grant, Mehserle, its all words and posturing until we all put it aside and start trying to move forward to bring peace, love and respect to all.

Interestingly, they are not liberals by any means. They are staunch right wing republican Catholics, but my father was a veteran of WW11 and a manager at the Naval Air Station Alameda. I was raised respecting people of all races and religions, and watched as my father befriended person after person, some white, some black, some Japanese, some Jewish, but based on their abilities and character only – not on their color or religion, he exhorted them to be their best and helped them to make their dreams come true, just as he did for himself- a poor redheaded boy from Iowa, who dropped out of high school to serve during the war. These people told me stories of the goodness and grace of my father, so I know it to be true. Our families cared about and loved each other. We spent lots of time together, and my two best friends were a black girl and a guamanian boy in high school.

I sincerely love and respect all of my black coworkers, I enjoy them with everything in me, and some of the best, most caring managers I have ever had, are black. It hurts my heart to see and hear some of the controversies that I see online. I was raised in my home in San Leandro (during the time that San Leandro was thought to be the most racist city in the country) by parents that welcomed everyone based on value, regardless of race, creed or color.

I’ve been interviewed on the PBS Newshour, on numerous radio programs, and even on British television about sociopolitical/sociocultural issues. My friends are politically *CONSCIOUS* activists &/or academics at every level — from the grassroots to nationally prominent professors (like Cornel West, Michael Eric Dyson, Ishmael Reed, Richard Majors, Maxine Hong Kingston, Ling Chi-Wang, Makeda Graham, Hatem Bazian…, just to name a few — who would regard you, “UN-Consciousness”, as a *JOKE*). I (and my multicultural housemates) have been internationally travelled to numerous countries and I have friends on every continent.
