Black Infant Health was a GREAT help to me with my first born. I learned so much from their parenting classes and I made much needed mommy friends with whom I am still in contact and they are my greatest supporters! I am so angry that this program is being targeted because so many black women would totally benefit from their parenting classes, storknest (which allow you to shop for free donated clothes), they even started a health class which put many of us on the track to better health and weight loss. But most importantly is the positive emotional support that you receive from the instructors and the other mothers: talk about stress relief. Its hard to find a community in your own neighborhood these days and Black Infant Health creates just that by bringing Black mothers together and arming them with information and assitance. Sorry for rambling but this is just wrong!!!!! I will be sending a strongly worded letter to the governors office immediately and I hope many other mothers who have benefited from this program will do the same!
