Everyone is invited to the legendary Black Dot Café, 1195 Pine St. in West Oakland at 7 p.m.

  • Cynthia McKinney, former congresswoman and presidential candidate who will be the narrator for the film “Operation Small Axe”;
  • Jack Bryson, father of two sons who were with Oscar Grant the night he was executed;
  • Minister of Information JR, one of the two remaining members of the Oakland 100, POCC organizer, and journalist with Block Report Radio and the SF Bay View newspaper; and
  • Holly Works, one of the two remaining Oakland 100, activist and political punk rock artist.

Donations of $10 to $1,000 are requested, but no one will be turned away for lack of funds. Funds are needed for JR and Holly’s legal defense and to replace JR’s camera. Oakland police seized it when he was arrested while covering the rebellion as a journalist and, though he needs it to support his family, they still have not returned it.
