This is what Lennar has accomplished in five years of ‘development’

After the “dirty transfer” (transfer prior to complete cleanup) of Parcel A of the Hunters Point Shipyard to Lennar, the “master developer’s” first act, in 2005, was to clearcut all the trees – “some of the last few trees of landmark quality in the city,” according to tree expert Carolyn Blair – from what had been a serene hilltop neighborhood of well landscaped bungalows housing naval officers’ families. – Photo: SF Tree Council

Now, five years later, this is what Lennar has done to Parcel A – after cutting down not only the trees but 35 feet of the entire hill, poisoning the community with toxic dust in the process. Is Lennar improving San Francisco – or trashing it? Now that we’ve seen what Lennar has done with Parcel A, why would we trust them with the “dirty transfer” of the entire Shipyard? Dear Supervisors,

We are dependent on you to REJECT Lennar’s toxic EIR – to support a full cleanup of the Hunters Point Shipyard and a progressive development plan for the area that will bring good job opportunities, quality affordable housing and community services without compromising the well-being of Bayview residents.

We need your help to bring environmental integrity to the Bayview Hunters Point Shipyard community! Please support a full cleanup of the shipyard and a progressive plan for development!

Lennar totally disrespects the environmental health of the Bayview Hunters Point Shipyard community!

Please DO NOT approve the Hunters Point Shipyard EIR!
