Mr. Debro,

I can identify with what you are saying about imported workers. This is happening in my area and is affecting my ability to get work in my chosen field of construction. I see your point about needing to get black people from Hunter's Point employed in the improvement of Hunter's Point. It may be difficult to do so depending on the experience of the applicants.

I do not agree with advocating violence, however. I believe you are frustrated with the city for not making this a consideration in their original bid process. One suggestion I have is to open the hiring to exclusively Hunter's Point residents for a period and then widen the applications to others after that. In doing so, the residents have the advantage in the hiring process. It is not perfect, but it is not violent.

I also disagree with your objection to the general contractors requiring the subs to have a bond. The bond protects the job. Our ultimate goal is to get the job complete-safely and on budget.
