A Two Million Unity Rally Aimed at Gathering Together America’s Disenfranchised Middle Class, including labor unions, the unemployed, and progressive groups; to address various urgent issues afflicting them including: unemployment, anti-labor laws, women’s rights, gay rights, separation of church and state and fraudulent bank foreclosures, is currently in the planning stages by various power movements.
WAR ON AMERICANS

Great article by Madison Rupert [http://www.activistpost.com/2011/12/smile-you-are-civilian-internee.html ] and another one by Ronnie Cummins [http://www.commondreams.org/view/2011/12/07-5 ] and many really good posts to both articles. Hooray for common sense. Yet there is something missing. The individual posts in support of the findings of the articles are just that – individual. I see no real consensus, – no real call to action, – no organization of ideas let alone organization of people into a coherent force to oppose the oligarchs of the drug, food, energy, medical, financial, equity, utilities, transportation, and bribery trades.

When is it going to dawn on the postors and protestors that the real answer is to take back our Federal, State and Local governments from the RadCons, from the Corporate State of America, and from the New World Order?

We cannot begin to have the people govern by electing competent and ethical members of Congress until we have joined together in a massive NEW PARTY which will fight and win seats in Congress and then “throw the rascals out”. It's time (actually almost too late) to form and fund our NEW PARTY (name is a placeholder) and fight the REPUBLICRATIC PARTY. See: http://thedragonsteeth.wetpaint.com/page/THE+NEW+...

OPEN LETTER TO THE 1% FROM THE 99%

Dear 1%:

Your only hope is to recuse yourselves from control of the national political and economic system. You will need to plead for foregivness from the masses of folks upon whom you have imposed hurt, damage, degradation, and dismissal of their hopes. Your burden is heavy. You and your predecessors over the past one to three or so hundred years have financed and enviggled governments to fight hideous wars. You have installed dictators and supported them, knowing of their will to murder their fellow humans and impost great deprivation upon them. Worse, you have used the media to divert the folks' attention from their woes created and imposed by you – a gigantic wasteland of radio, television, movies and national diversions. You have intentionally “dumbed down” the average citizens by refusing to support high quality education among all residents of the nation. You threaten further deprivations of shelter, food, jobs, education and health care.

You have contributed your wealth to your personal pleasures while homeless folks suffer wretched conditions of existence. You have excellent food, shelter and medical care while great numbers of us sleep in poor and inadquate shelters – or no shelter at all – and suffer from our disabilities. You have used your exteme wealth to buy our elected represenatives while at the same time hoovering great wealth from the masses. You have annointed the winners in the political and economic games you play, and dismissed those chosen by you to lose, with impunity. You throw good, competent and loyal workers from local jobs and move your factories to slave labor nations ruled by your former “communist” enemies. Your hippocracy is evermore transparent.

You pretend to be terribly concerned about the Federal debt, yet your coporate enterprises have been the chief beneficeries of the transfer of wealth. Your banks first throw fake money at the DOTCOM sectors and the real estate sectors, driving huge economic bubbles. Then you unload the risks on late entrants who try to “score” the same as you have done. They get caught as the Money Masters pull the triggers for the ensuring depressions. The banksters then gobble up equities of vast numbers of Americans who were led by you to believe in the American Dream. You turned those dreams into nightmares.

You have much to answer for. It is better that you admit the failures of your attempts to rule the nation by the creation and operation of the Corporate State of America. Your actions will be carefully monitered by us, the 99%. If your actions are found wanting, you will surely pay a greater price. We will change how our nation is governed. We will change how our life's hopes are spun. We will change how to claim the value and benefits of our labors, to the exclusion of your corporate enterprises. Your perks and privileges extracted by bribery of the cowards you have caused to be elected to public office will dissolve into nothing. Act now! Delay and resistance will most certainly embolden the 99%.

My favorite part of the letter is where they write "We, the 99 percent, have no intention of going anywhere until substantive change is realized..."

The irony of it all almost made my laugh that a group of prisoners threatened not to go anywhere.

What's your favorite part?

While I'm not so sure that divestiture is a magical silver bullet, I do agree that such a comprehensive list of demands is pointless at this time. Personally, I think there are pretty much two pressing priorities right now. The first is to regain control over our government. We already have the tools to do that, it's called "the vote". The only real question is whether we can convince enough other people that we're right. The second priority is to heal the split between left and right. We cannot allow the talking heads and politicos to continue pull us more and more apart. Most of America is way more centrist than most of Congress. We need to learn how to talk civilly to each other again.

After that, you've got a working political system again and we can set about fixing that laundry list of stuff... along with a host of other things.

My final thought and totally unrelated to occupy? As I understand it, the people who wrote this are locked in cages. We're doing something wrong. I'm thinking to myself that pretty much no matter what crime someone did, if they can write this then they have useful output for society and it behooves us all to find better answers than "stick them in a hole".
