@Jean Pierre Papin. If what I can see reproduced here is from you, I cannot imagine any worse you can accuse Ann of about her being a hypocric. I hope now her publishing your comment here can give her more credit than to Kagame in his censorship of free speech.

Mr. Mugara, do you really think that US$ 1 billion in 10yrs is something that will make Rwandans bend over backward. My friend, Rwandans through various home-grown initiates (ie: one dollar campaign, performance contracts, umuganda, direct foreign investments through PPP, etc) are building their own country without pinning their hopes on pathetic and patronizing aid. For this reason, it baffles my mind how the peterborough-based Trent university that currently employs you can have confidence in your deficient ideas. Piece of advice, though, try to approach and talk to any anthropologist, you and your so-called “hero” Victoire Ingabire will learn that the very meaning of an ethnic group (or ethnicity) is “a group of people whose members identify with each other, through a common heritage, often consisting of a common language, a common culture (often including a shared religion)”. As far as i know, all Rwandans DO share a common language, a common culture, and did hold similar religious practices before the advent of colonialists. Therefore, i don’t know what you and Ingabire mean by “RWANDANS FROM DIFFERENT ETHNIC GROUPS”. Either you’re ignorant of this historical fact or your intent is to mislead your readers. In any case, this article points to some sort of nostalgia on your part to see Rwanda return to the pre-1994 darkness where its people were pitted against each other to serve the interests of its earlier post-colonial leaders who were nothing more than servants of former colonial powers.
