I have HFA and was severely abused by cops – but as a coworker, not a civilian citizen. I was one of the highest and best performers in my unit – every day, every year – but when I asked them – AGAIN – to stop the bullying I had to endure daily, they simply intensified it and moved it up the chain-of-command.

I was mocked for having autism; I was purposely assigned humiliating positions that insulted my talents; I was punished and ordered to go home when I asserted my right of complaint via police department and city policy and federal ADA law; and they paid their contracted psychologist to write a report that (incoherently) blamed me for the bullying, and therefore as also "unfit for duty."

The list of abuses goes far beyond what I've listed here.

The City of Overland Park, Kansas, its governing body and its police department were all named in the federal ADA lawsuit I filed against them.

The worst of it all? I have an audio recording of one of their own then-high ranking human resources people explaining to me what was happening and why: I was smarter and better than the corrupt cops for whom and with whom I had to work, but the city won't police its police – because it is easier for them to just let you file a lawsuit "because they know you'll have to get a lawyer" and – the implication was plain – what common person can afford a legal battle with the rich city of Overland Park, Kansas?

Cops don't have to be good people – because there are other scoundrels throughout the department, the municipality, the EEOC, the "helping professions" and the courts, who will craft and provide subterfuge of any sort, at any time, for any crime, to cover the cops.

Latson's case is a perfect example. The cop was blatantly INCOMPETENT handling the situation, and yet Latson – not the incompetent cop – is sitting in jail.

How did that happen? It happened because people who know better let it happen anyway.

Just because they can.

It's called "EVIL."

Hispanic woman DIES (this was within the last month) in the local jail where Neli is because they failed to listen to her regarding her lupus. It was a case of mistaken identity and she tried to tell them so. Within 24 hours she was dead and left behind 4 children.
