To say that reform comes to an individual who happens to be Black is pathetic

When that Black individual of African descent already had humanistic, compassionate qualities, joining
the US military only erases those quality that Black individual will learn how to become a BEAST
un-human and non-compassionate

The article as well as the title is correct, why be a droid for the US Army and continue to uphold white supremecy

General Butler is a hero for his writings. His words challenge American historical memory with truths. However, I would say there is a better question to be asked than the one posed in the title: Why kill people in foreign lands who never attacked the US? It would appear to be the definition of murder, though I doubt there is a US court brave enough to define recent and past American military adventures as murder for resource projects.

I have found a simple and useful question in this regard: When was the last time the US engaged in a war of self defense?

But, to answer the title's question on participation in a US wars when black, I would say war involvement can assist minorities and second-class citizens. Note the reforms for women and blacks and Hispanics after WWII. The fully involved can more easily demand active citizenship because they are/were equally involved in 'national struggle.'
