NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS
Yerba Buena Island West Bound Ramps Project
The San Francisco County Transportation Authority (Authority) will receive sealed construction bids for the: Interstate 80/Yerba Buena Island West Bound Ramps Project in the lobby of the Authority’s office building; 1455 Market Street, San Francisco, CA 94103 on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 until 2 PM after which time said bids will be publicly opened and read. A mandatory Pre-Bid and Disadvantaged Business / Small Business Enterprise Outreach Meeting will be held for the project on Tuesday, September 17, 2013, at 1 PM; 191 Avenue of the Palms, Building 271, San Francisco (Treasure Island), CA, 94130. Following the meeting, there will be a site tour.
The project generally consists of the construction of two west bound freeway ramps on elevated structures; reconstruction of North Gate Road and Macalla Road; construction of temporary detour roads; construction of retaining walls; building demolition; and relocation and preservation of historic buildings. The work includes grading, paving, bridge construction, storm drainage improvements, public utility construction, signing, pavement delineation, temporary traffic signals, lighting, and ramp metering.
The project is partially federally funded, and includes a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise goal of 12.5%. The Authority also highly encourages Small Business Enterprise participation. A Class A contractor license is required and the successful bidder must pay prevailing wages. Bidders must become registered plan holders by purchasing Contract Documents for $350.00.
