On Tuesday evening, Dec. 17, 2015, the Berkeley City Council voted to keep sending officers to the annual Urban Shield war games and weapons expo, even after one vocal citizen held up the expo’s best selling T-shirts and read their inscriptions: “Black Rifles Matter,” “This (barrel of a gun) is my peace symbol” and “Destruction cometh. And they shall seek peace. And there shall be none” (Ezekiel 7:25-27, King James Bible).

The release of some 70,000-plus files from the Afghanistan War has been treated by most corporate media as, at best, a minor irritant and, worse, an act of treason. Media as servant of presidential power. Media as servant of the defense industries – and Empire.

The corporate media in the United States are ignoring valid news stories, based on university quality research. It appears that certain topics are simply forbidden inside the mainstream corporate media today. To openly cover these news stories would stir up questions regarding “inconvenient truths” that many in the U.S. power structure want to avoid.

A dangerous little DVD inserted into newspapers in 70 cities last month titled "Obsession: Radical Islam's War Against the West" is a deliberately frightening view of "radical Islam." Imagine those who received it going to a Palin rally and hearing Barack Obama's middle name spat out. These cannot be coincidences.
