Child abuse, kidnapping and criminal death threats seem appropriate to this incident. As long as adult behavior as described here, especially that of an ex-police officer, is the go-to response to annoyance, we are in further danger of losing our humanity. Children will always play pranks with each other and the community at large. They shouldn’t be in danger of dying for their folly.

More on the psyche of a sexually abused child

Sexually abused children have to live with the pain and trauma of the abuse forever! With so many new cases of Bay Area police officers involved with the current underage sex scandal, it is important to educate the community on the effects sexual abuse has on the psyche of a minor. We need to protect our children from predators like these officers and any monster who believes it is OK to have sexual relations with a minor.

Support SB 124 to end solitary confinement for youth

California should display national leadership in the area of juvenile justice, not be among the states with the most backward, inhumane and primitive policies. We respectfully urge you to take whatever leadership steps are possible to protect the fundamental rights of this highly vulnerable population of juveniles and offer your strong support for SB 124.
