Introduction to ‘Colors: The Ancient African Connection to the Crips and...

With the recently released “Colors,” I’ve written a book that has potential to stem the tide of gang warfare between the Crips and Bloods and other street gangs identified by the colors red and blue. It’s a story linking present day Crips and Bloods with two ancient African warrior tribes called the Cuuzan and the Ikeely. These two African tribes worshiped the colors red and blue for religious and ritualistic reasons and believed they held supernatural powers.

Second Chance is a unique program at City College of San Francisco that provides academic and other services to parolees. It's the birth child of the Extended Opportunity Program or, as one of its founding fathers calls it, the Experienced Oppressed People’s Program, hard won by Third World students in the '60s.

Finally a step in the right direction

Walking clean and sober can be very lonely for a parolee whose comfort zone is hanging out with addicts and traveling the road of drugs and criminality. I for one will admit that I perhaps know less about free society than I do about prison life.
