Peace to all at the Bay View. My name is Tha’God Allah Mahdi or Mahdi Allah. I am writing to request that a teacher come in and teach us here in San Quentin Prison. I have filed all the paperwork, from San Quentin to Sacramento, from the religious oversight unit and chaplaincy division of adult institutions, back to the warden here at San Quentin, from the third level review, giving the order to allow us here in San Quentin to practice and function like the gods we are, the Five-Percent Nation of Gods and Earths.

However, this institution will not go out and find no one to come in and teach, so it is up to me and the Nation of Gods and Earths to build this from the ground up as we always have. I have been placed in the position of leading the parliaments, rallies and civilization classes.

I have been building from the sun of man publications, DVDs from a friend named Tio Macdonald of the East Oakland Times, the Nation of Gods and Earths Allah School in Mecca with divine Prince Allah, Allah U Justice and Lord Jamal of Brand Nu’Bian, and my main man Sean X Gundy, who reached out through YouTube and holla’d at the god Allah. However this is only the beginning. I am requesting from the community which I am from, Oakland, in the Bay Area, to come in and teach the whole prison.

Why? Because from that point we can build an economic regeneration back in our community, the Black community, our people from whom we have taken so much and given to others.

I have been running the classes with little or less than what is needed. I have been using everything I have to continue, from the supreme mathematics and alphabets to the lessons and DVDs of speeches from my homeboy F.A.B. at the Black Panther rally to Lord Jamal and my Wu-Tang family. But, we need more. We need to connect with the community and be reeducated on self, our self, our entire self – which means every one in our family, the Black family all across the globe.

I am requesting teachers, rappers, cooks and producers from all walks of our life to come in and teach and reach our selves, because we are you. Seriously, we are you: frustrated by the way things have been, have become and will continue to be if we do not wake up.

I want you, my Gods and Earths, to look at this as an industry, a prison industry where we are we are here to be rehabilitated, changed from being lied upon and shot down innocently in the streets to being homeless.

What have we learned from the Black Panthers, the son of Al-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz, what have we learned from Father Allah (founder of the Five-Percenters)? Where true hip-hop culture came from – Brand Nu’bian. Big Daddy Kane, Rakim, Wu-Tang Clan, Grand Master Flash and the Furious Five.

What have we learned from the Nation of Islam? The Black Hebrew Nation, Big Earl (E-40), our street hustlers, Too-$hort, Baby and Freddy B., Souls of Mischief, Del tha Funkee Homosapien, and anyone I missed – please know I got you in my heart. Queen Latifah, Ms. Melodie, Sister Souljah, Erykah Badu, Lauryn Hill, The Fugees, my main man Askari X, and Paris, the Black Panther of hip-hop, but in truth, my family, Digital Underground and Tupac Shakur.

What have we learned? It’s not just all music – they also gave speeches, taught classes and built something for the people. So, let’s carry on and continue to build, learn and be taught by ourselves, and produce for our selves. There are book writers here, rappers and real life storytellers of the culture here. We just want our own to believe in us to get the job done.

The process of regeneration of economics would come from fundraising events, like food drives, clothing sales, and the purchasing of goods from our community like books, newspapers, music, etc. Shopkeeping is something we as a Black community need to look into.

Prison is an industry, an economic base, and two out of five households in the Black community are in jail or experience some type of policing. Through things like shopkeeping, we can build.

But we need a volunteer to come in and teach us.

To apply to receive a brown card to come and teach, to send speeches, DVDs or lessons from the culture, please write for the Five-Percent Nation, contacting me via Catholic Chaplain George Williams, 1 Main St., San Quentin, CA 94964, 415-454-1460 x5314 or georgewilliams@cdcr.ca.gov.

To get directly at me, write or contact Tio Macdonald at the East Oakland Times. [Check YouTube for several reports and reach him via Twitter: @tioMacD. – ed.] He will get me the message. I will get right back at you.

Or if you just want to talk, that’s kool too. Peace, my love to all that is.

Send our brother some love and light: Tha’God Allah Mahdi/Mahdi Allah, aka Darren Cornelious Stanley, P.O. Box DO9338 5EY57, San Quentin Prison, San Quentin, CA 94974.
