Comrade-Malik-in-TDCJ-2019, Malik has been granted parole!, Abolition Now!

by Keith ‘Comrade Malik’ Washington

Revolutionary greetings, Comrades!

It is with great joy that I announce my parole from Texas state prisons (TDCJ)!

This is the result of a great show of mutual aid and solidarity from numerous anarchist collectives. Numerous individuals and groups who strive for abolition of prisons lobbied for my release! I am so grateful to the comrades at Blue Ridge ABC, The Final Straw radio show, Austin ABC, Central Texas ABC, Fight Toxic Prisons, IWOC, the Revolutionary Abolitionist Movement, the entire North American ABC as well as the entire ABC Federation.

I want to thank some of my dearest comrades who have become not just my supporters but true friends! Much love going out to Annabelle Parker of the Netherlands, Sam Rosen in the UK, Alina Dollat in Italy, Professor Victor Wallis, Michael Novick of Turning the Tide, Carole Seligman and Bonnie Weinstein, Comrades Julie Schneyer and Kirk Daniels, Harry Volker, Lee O’Dowd and Katie Lawrie of the Colorado College Prison Project, Nube Brown, Kim Pollak, Amani Sawari, Anarchist Bad Asss Sloan Rucker, Justin Adkins and Panagioti Tsolkas.

I want to send out real Panther love to Rashid Johnson and Karl Kersplebedep as well as huge hugs to my praying Grandma and Grandpa sister Mary Ratcliff and Dr. Willie Ratcliff of the San Francisco Bay View National Black Newspaper. Finally, I send a special shout out to Azzurra Crispino and Leah Buris of P.A.P.S., Keri Blakinger of the Houston Chronicle, Kamala Kelkar of PBS Newshour, Paul Holdorf, Esq., and Rachel Y. of the New Jersey chapter of the National Lawyers Guild. Xy of Austin ABC and Twitch of Central Texas ABC, y’all have always kept it real! Thank you! Dr. Heinz Leitner, you are loved! I apologize if I forgot anyone. I think I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention Paul Mattick and Phong Bui of the Brooklyn Rail for amplifying my voice!

I’ll holler at y’all later!

Solidarity forever,

Malik

Note from the Comrade Malik Support Network: Malik still has about 20 months to serve in federal prison, so he won’t be “out” imminently. However, being paroled from TDCJ will greatly improve his situation, as he’ll have access to phone calls and won’t be in solitary. He also may be eligible for a reduction of his federal time due to the First Step Act, which applies to the fed system.

UPDATES TO COME ON MALIK’S NEW ADDRESS! He is still in transfer limbo, so anything you send him at the Estelle Unit where he is currently, could get lost, as he could be transferred any day and we won’t know until it happens. Watch https://comrademalik.com/ for his new address. Then flood him with mail so the prisoncrats will know to handle him with kid gloves.
