Mayor London N. Breed and Director of Health Dr. Grant Colfax today released a new map that displays confirmed cases of coronavirus in San Francisco by zip code. The map shows that the populations and locations in the City that are most affected by health disparities, income inequality and structural racism are also the most affected by the pandemic to date.
It’s been a long, loud election season; let’s end it right by VOTING 100% as the oldtimers used to say. If you can’t vote the top of the ticket, elect these bright, young Black candidates. For the Nov. 8 election, weekend voting at City Hall began Oct. 29, and on Election Day, polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. You can take this guide into the voting booth. The Black population in San Francisco drastically declined when urban renewal, Redevelopment and the gentrification of the Fillmore/Western Addition started in the ‘60s, bulldozed the hearts of African Americans, many forced to move out of the City.
