“Until we live in a world in which it is safe to simultaneously advocate for peace and be Black without fear of death or defamation, to produce research that affirms the Black experience while challenging racial capitalism and White supremacy.” – “‘If we neglect to mark this history, it may be distorted or forgotten’: Socialism and Democracy in W.E.B. DuBois’s Life, Thought and Legacy,” Phillip Luke Sinitiere, Edward Carson and Gerald Horne, Socialism and Democracy 32/3 (2018): 1-13

Peace and blessings, Sisters and Brothers!

If you passionately and fervently desire revolutionary change in the United States of Amerika, then this message is for you!

Kwame “Beans” Shakur is a revolutionary scholar, activist and New Afrikan Liberation Collective Cadre member. He is teaming up with a progressive pastor from Terre Haute, Indiana, as well as some dedicated community activists, in order to organize the First Annual REBUILD: New Afrikan People’s Assembly Conference. This will be held at the Booker T. Washington Community Center on Aug. 18, 2019, in beautiful Terre Haute, Indiana. The main topic of the People’s Assembly Conference is REBUILDING!

For decades, the political system, the ruling system of neo-imperialism, has aggressively sought to tear down and destroy the New Afrikan Nation. The so-called “War on Drugs” and mass incarceration have ripped apart our family units.

Gentrification has destroyed historically Black neighborhoods and communities which are close to our urban centers. Redistricting maps and gerrymandering have stolen our ability to gain representation and a “voice” in state legislatures.

The police continue to act as a hostile occupying force in our communities, rather than the public servants that they ought to be, whose mandate is supposed to “to protect and serve,” not “to maim and kill!”

Can anyone hear me? In the last U.S. presidential election, we had cyberterrorists, sock puppets and military spies playing psychological warfare games on Black people and other people of color in order to trick us into not voting at all! And truthfully, we sure didn’t have much of a choice!

I don’t have to tell you that we are experiencing a crisis within our Black communities in Amerika. The injustices and abuse continue to be thrown in our face, and if you are truly prepared to be an ambassador and representative for meaningful change, you must begin to interact and communicate with those who have the most realistic critiques and radical solutions in order to turn the tide back in our favor!

Brothers like Kwame Shakur and myself have been mentored by long-serving revolutionaries and servants of the people such as Jalil Muntaqim, Sanyika Shakur, Kevin “Rashid” Johnson, and Mr. and Mrs. Ratcliff of the San Francisco Bay View National Black Newspaper!

I happen to be just one of the many New Afrikan leaders, scholars and changemakers who you will hear from on Aug. 18 in Terre Haute, Indiana. The list is growing and I promise you that this is an event you won’t want to miss!

I have been asked a very provocative and thought-provoking question lately, and because I never shy away from controversy, I’m going to share it with you and address the issue in order to give you a sample of what you may hear on Aug. 18. I’ve been asked, “Are members of the revolutionary New Afrikan formations at odds with White revolutionaries and anti-fascists?”

Right off the top, my response is – “Hell no!” But that is an insufficient answer when you are communicating with people who can think deeply, so allow me to expound a little further.

Part of Hillary Clinton’s presidential electoral strategy in 2017 was to 1) ridicule, demonize and alienate the white working class, and 2) discredit and delegitimize the campaign of Bernie Sanders.

I’ve been on this earth for 50 years, and that tactic Hillary used of demonizing the white workers in Amerika had to be one of the dumbest political strategies I’ve ever witnessed! And you see how that worked out for her!

As far as addressing this impotent two-party political system in Amerika, I have this to say: It is absolutely imperative that we utilize the prospect of Donald Trump’s re-election in 2020 as a rallying point for all dedicated servants of the people. No matter what dirty tricks the state plays, I will not abandon this fight!

Revolutionary socialists, anarchists and anti-racists of all creeds, colors, genders and economic backgrounds might unite and form a party that can gain the trust and loyalty of all the workers and oppressed masses. If what I am saying sounds intriguing, then clear your calendar for the third Sunday in August 2019 and make your way to Terre Haute, Indiana.

You have questions? Well, the New Afrikan People’s Assembly has answers!

I leave as I came, in the spirit of peace!

Dare to struggle, dare to win, all power to the people!
