In ‘95, I remember hearing all of the hype around this new thing called the internet, which would dramatically change life on earth as we know it. At that time, we just used the internet for email, which was a life changing technology at the time. By 2010, everything revolved around the internet: from banking, to ordering groceries and dinner, to gaming, utilizing social media and more. In 2022, the hype around the NFT explosion is very comparable to that time. Many tech industry leaders are talking about how NFTs, the Blockchain and the Metaverse will once again change life as we know it.

Nea Simone is the founder and CEO of NFT Atlanta Con, which is taking place in Atlanta Tuesday through Thursday, May 24-26, 2022. The conference will feature sports legends turned tech leaders, Chris Webber and Baron Davis. It will also feature up to 100 other Black tech leaders who will discuss the future of Black people in this new era.

If you have the ability to travel to Atlanta, this is one of those conferences that you don’t want to miss. Check out Nea Simone as she talks about what will be happening at NFT Atlanta Con.

JR Valrey: What is your role? What inspired you to want to have this event?

Nea Simone: I am the founder and CEO. Over the last few years as the conversation evolved in this blockchain, Web 3 space, I saw very few people who looked like me invited to have a seat at the table. So, I decided to build my own table and extend invitations to others like me.

JR Valrey: What do you do in the tech world, when you are not planning and promoting for this event?

Nea Simone: I own Melanated Studios, the first Black and female owned blockchain services agency focused on NFTs and the Metaverse.

JR Valrey: Who is your target audience?

Nea Simone: Anyone from the tourist to the purist, interested in expanding their knowledge of Web 3, NFTs, Metaverse and Blockchain technology.

JR Valrey: What do you want people to get from the event?

Nea Simone: I want people to walk away feeling as though their time was well spent. They had fun, learned something new, networked and are excited about continuing their Web 3 journey.
