(You can find) It
by James Beasley
To whom it may concern, I greet you in peace and power. I’m writing to respectfully thank you for all you do to keep the masses informed and the struggle moving forward. I wrote a poem I think you’ll appreciate, and hopefully it will make the paper.
I also would like to bring your attention to a movement that’s barely getting started. It’s called “Truth Army,” and it’s all about authenticity, people being and representing their true selves, no matter if they’re Black, Brown, Red, White or any other kind of person. If it’s a righteous cause and stands on truth, speaking one’s truth, living one’s truth and pushing truth to power, this new movement should be supported at: www.bonfire.com/truth-army-T2P. It’s in its infant stage, but will become global.
Thank you for your time,
Sincerely, Me

It
You can find it
In the Black household,
And in the hood
On Urban blocks.
You can find it in church,
Or in the projects.
You can find it
At a voodoo Fete
Or a Santeria ceremony
You can find it
In the Black rhythms
That vibrate through Black conversations.
You can find it
In various shades
From light to dark
You can find it
In struggle
In the will to overcome.
You can find it
In Black success
In Black excellence.
You can find it
In our blood, sweat and tears.
For wherever there’s Blacks
You will find the power
Of Afrika.
