When community members fight, they win, and sometimes after they win they must continue to fight for what they won. Clarissa Doutherd of Parent Voices Action explains how the community in it’s need urged the Alameda County BOS to begin collecting the taxes now as directed by the 67 percent voter-approved Measure C in March 2020.

Initiatives like Measure C help level the playing field, addressing the inequality that exists when some children have access to critical resources while others do not.

On Tuesday, May 25, over 150 California child care supporters will speak out against Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s proposal for a massive dismantling of the state’s child care system by July 1, throwing hundreds of thousands of parents who depend on child care and child care providers out of work and denying 200,000 children the learning and nurturing and joy of good child care.
