The International Jurists listened to testimonies from 30 witnesses including these six icons at the International Tribunal in New York Oct. 22-25, 2021 finding the US government Guilty of Human Rights Violations constituting Genocide.

Dr. Mutulu Shakur is a legendary figure in the current-day Black Power/New Afrikan freedom struggle in the U.S. He has been a political prisoner, behind enemy lines, for over three decades. The Hip Hop community will know him most for being the father of legendary rapper Tupac Shakur, as well as being the spiritual and political mentor to Mutulu Olugbala aka M1 of legendary revolutionary rap group dead prez.

Sitawa, along with three other strong and principled leaders of the Pelican Bay Short Corridor Collective, inspired 30,000 courageous prisoners, who, in their struggle for freedom from the torture of solitary confinement – or the threat of it – chose to shun violence and rather embrace a peaceful strategy in order to bring about much needed change.

This year, advocates are demanding that the understaffed Parole Board be filled with people who believe in rehabilitation, have experience in human services and have a background that allows them to be impartial evaluators.
