SFSU students speak up following threat of campus violence

San Francisco – Community Journalist Sierra Bourne has the story. The United States has long been plagued with an epidemic of mass gun violence and school shootings, so much so that it is no surprise to find students ranging from pre-K to high school donning bulletproof backpacks and engaging in emergency school shooter training regularly.

The threat is unfortunately no different at San Francisco State University, where a threat of armed violence spread quickly via social media on the evening of Sept. 28, resulting in a 24-hour campus shutdown. Sierra of the San Francisco Bay View interviewed students the following day to hear their opinions on the incident and gauge how safe they truly feel on campus.
