Fighting back!
Jeffery Walker is fighting back to expose the corruption and racial bias of the San Francisco criminal justice system, and he has new evidence that a prosecutor and police inspector set out to frame and convict him for a crime he did not commit in 2005. Now going on 20 years fighting this case, Jeffery is back in the San Francisco County Jail fighting to be free and waiting for the outcome concerning his illegal civil hold that was based on evidence known to be false by the District Attorney’s Office. He now needs your support to help free him and clear his name!
Greetings to all citizens, caged voices and their families reading this article in the newspaper or online. Please allow me to tell you a little bit about Jeffery Walker, aka Jeff Ace Walker, and why he needs and deserves your support, but first I would like to thank the Bay View for believing in Jeffery’s innocence and for printing this article. It means a lot!
Some may recognize Jeff’s face in photos from a variety of areas in business and entertainment since 1984. Most notably, Jeffery is known as The Rose Man, seen selling roses with his crew at various concerts and night clubs, or the former MC who opened for numerous music groups.
Jeffery was a Soul Train dancer back in the day, 1988-1991 and in 2000-2001. Others may recall Jeffery fighting in martial arts in the ‘80s or training his comrades behind the walls.
Jeffery was last heard as Mr. Wonderful, a part of the San Francisco Wild 94.9 Dog House radio morning show, where he played the Money Mike type Katt Williams character as the Corporate Pimp in comedy, with founder J.C. rip and Crew.
But what you don’t know is Jeffery’s story and what happened to the man who many believed in and rooted for to make it big. He will expose the corruption that has plagued him and tried to frame him.
This is Jeffery’s story: In 2005, Jeffery was wrongfully convicted of pandering (procuring, trying to get someone to have sexual relations for money) a 22-year-old Hispanic woman out of San Jose, Calif., to be a prostitute in the private rooms of the strip clubs in San Francisco’s North Beach area. At trial, the prosecution used only the young woman’s testimony of an elaborate story of lies of being hired by Jeffery’s company, Mr. Wonderful Entertainment, featuring female and male exotic dancers, then taken to San Francisco strip clubs to find work and to audition for a job. This is all lies, and Jeffery has new evidence to prove it!
Why Jeffery is still in custody
Shockingly, Jeffery was to be released in 2015, but he was illegally held on a nonviolent civil hold based on the belief that he needed mental health treatment before release. The California Supreme Court reversed the probable cause finding that Jeffery needed treatment based on inadmissible hearsay evidence. However, the new evidence shows that the petition to hold Jeffery for the last nine years is based on false evidence.
Jeffery has presented this evidence to the prosecution – to prosecutor Jonathan Schmidt – and has demanded his immediate release and informed Schmidt of his obligation to inform District Attorney Brooke Jenkins of Jeffery’s illegal civil hold and the false evidence that has held him illegally.
Jailhouse in custody abuse
According to Jeffery, on March 29, 2024, he was viciously assaulted and punched in the mouth by Deputy Wong. In self defense, he held on to Deputy Wong by wrapping his arms around Wong’s waist to prevent further assaults. As Jeffery was letting go of Deputy Wong, another deputy covered the body-worn camera with his black glove to hide the continuous assault by Deputy Wong, all seen on a YouTube video. Jeffery had requested that criminal charges be filed on Deputy Wong and an investigation be held by Internal Affairs; however, on April 12, 2024, Jeffery was criminally charged with battery on a peace officer, a misdemeanor, and cited for resisting and delaying a peace officer in the performance of his duties.
Jury trial
In late March and early April of 2025, Jeffery represented himself as counsel at trial and on April 10, the jury returned a verdict of not guilty on the battery charge but guilty of resisting and delaying a peace officer, a major victory for a jailhouse lawyer against an experienced law school graduate who was assigned to prosecute the case. Jeffery had informed me that this is what corrupt deputies do – assault prisoners and then charge them with committing crimes to justify their assaults!
It is time for a change! And Jeffery has suffered enough! He has approximately six pending lawsuits against Sheriff Miyamoto and other high ranking personnel at the jail, not to mention Jeffery won a financial settlement from a 2005 excessive force claim in Walker vs Officer Jones at this same jail. We now demand an internal investigation into the ongoing criminal assaults on prisoners by deputies! See the KTVU Fox News story by Henry Lee “Inmate acquitted in attacking San Francisco sheriff’s deputy” on YouTube.
