Not telling our stories might be the biggest crime we in ghetto communities commit against ourselves. Sharing the details of our life decisions is essential. In the case of the Jonestown Massacre, we must open the secret for our people to study.

Join us Monday, Nov. 18, 2019, for a candlelight vigil and open mic to honor our Jonestown ancestors and the Black community still surviving in SF working endlessly to strengthen their lives, families, businesses and neighborhoods.

On Nov. 18, 1978, the world as we knew it was changed forever: 918 victims, of whom 305 were children – including 40 infants – lost their lives along with U.S. Congressman Leo Ryan and a United Press International film crew. The place was Peoples Temple in Jonestown, Guyana – that Paradise of Pain – founded and led by James Warren “Jim” Jones, forever rendered infamous by its name “Jonestown.”
