Africans Deserve Reparations! Cause, Black Lives Truly Matter!

Greetings of IMANI (FAITH), Esteemed G-o-ds and Sister-Brother Leaders,

May our Divine Mother-Father Creator of and in All – and Beloved Ancestors from yesteryears and yesterday – find you and (y)our Family thriving in healing Spirit. WE are remembering those who have recently transformed to the Spirit realm, including human rights icon JUANITA ABERNATHY (wife of Rev. RALPH DAVID ABERNATHY); Richmond, California’s ELIJAH “PUMPSIE” GREEN, who withstood horrific racist attacks as the first player of Afrikan ancestry for the Boston Red (Neck) Sox (a dozen years after JACKIE ROBINSON’s debut with the then Brooklyn Dodgers); and, my life-long friend and class-mater LEMAL PIERCE JR. Long Live Their Spirits and impactful contributions. Asé.

HARRIET TUBMAN with Baba Jahahara on sacred lands stolen from Indigenous nations, enriched by the labor of enslaved and super-exploited Afrikans, and occupied by George Washington and his family (and renamed “mount vernon, virginia”). Asé.

WE are also holding in our sacred thoughts and prayers, our dear Queen Mother Betty Reid Soskin, our incredible 98-years-young elder and community leader, who recently suffered a stroke. Wishing you a full recovery and complete healing, Mama Betty. Asé.

Last month, in the lead-up to the very successful youth-led, 4-million strong, Global Climate Strike, WE reported on the senseless, for-profit burning of our precious Amazonas river valley, particularly in Brazil, saying: “That critical world treasure is on fire and being unnecessarily and rapidly destroyed by corporate interests, like the oil, beef and agri-business industries.”

Well, unfortunately, our Mother continent of Afrika is literally, in flames … from Angola to the Congo to Tanzania. Even the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is now calling Alkebulan/Afrika the “fire continent.” The corporate-imperialist star-wars agency recently reported that “Africa is home to at least 70 percent of the 10,000 fires burning worldwide on an average August day.”

With the crises growing on each and every day, WE again appeal to our youth and adults to utilize every means to stop the wealthy and foolish fossil fuel industries and challenge every candidate for elected office to produce serious climate reparations proposals and practices. Just being anti-Trumpism is not enough.

Her dear Sun, TORIAN DEJURE HUGHES, was murdered in Oakland, in 2015. He was only 15. STOP THE KILLING! INCREASE THE HEALING! REPARATIONS RIGHT NOW! Asé. – Photo: Jahahara Alkebulan-Ma’at

These catastrophic times call for major revolutionary action to promote system change. If you need a little more inspiration, take a listen to our Oakland-based Earth Amplified and Brother Seasunz’s “Global WarNing” featuring Stic-Man of dead prez along with J. When our ancestors speak, listen! Part 2

Our beloved Ancestors keep calling on us. To listen. Drum up their spiritual energy. Document their stories. And, develop necessary actions to redeem them. And, ourselves. Painful as it might be, sometimes. So, WE keep on journeying. Please remember to support and, hopefully, attend:

  • The 50 Year Commemoration of the Black Panther Party’s “Free Breakfast Program” at Oakland’s Bobby Hutton Park, 18th & Adeline, Saturday, 12 October, 10 a.m. to 12 noon.

The Pan African Federalist Community (PAFM) of North America is calling on African people worldwide to hold community gatherings, large and small, pour libations and build on this great legacy. A few of the dozens of mostly-young story-tellers who traveled from around our African continent and diaspora to share their incredible work at the 10th Annual Silicon Valley African Film Festival. Over three days, 85 films were featured, along with special African drumming, dance and musical performances, an entire day devoted to women’s empowerment, creative vendors and great food. CONGRATS to Baba Chike C. Nwoffiah, Founder-Director, for more than a decade of visioning and growing this fabulous event in the south Bay Area. Asé. – Photo: Jahahara Alkebulan-Ma’at

Finally, here are a few more photographs from our recent torturous tour – from the eastern shore of the capitalist enslavement state of Maryland to the capitalist prison states of CALabama. Oooops. That’s where i now reside (california). Meant to say Alabama … as well as Tennessee, Georgia, the Carolinas and Virginia – this past sacred Black August. Some additional images will be part of our upcoming 500 YEARS OF AFRIKAN RESISTANCE! art exhibit. Asé.

Please Support Our Bay View

Asante Sana (Many Thanks)! WE are so appreciative to those of you who have made a much-needed contribution to our San Francisco Bay View newspaper, placed an ad, or taken a subscription for yourself or an incarcerated family member. However, WE are mightily struggling to keep this liberation newspaper in print and distributed FOR FREE throughout the Bay Area and around the united capitalist prison terrorist states (including to numerous penitentiaries where our Bay View is not currently banned due to our radical political stances and giving a voice to the voiceless).

Please, please make a tax-deductible donation ASAP by calling us at 415-671-0789; or go to our website at www.sfbayview.com. You can also send contributions of any amount the old-fashioned way by mailing to 4917 Third St., San Francisco, CA 94124. Asé.
