When our ancestors speak, LISTEN! Part 2

With the crises growing on each and every day, WE again appeal to our youth and adults to utilize every means to stop the wealthy and foolish fossil fuel industries and challenge every candidate for elected office to produce serious climate reparations proposals and practices.

When Our Ancestors Speak … LISTEN!

I hope you will join me in supporting our youth-led “Global Climate Strike” in locations around the planet, from 20-27 September.

Asante sana, Ayesha and Stephen!

In July, the Currys launched their new Eat.Learn.Play Foundation to continue supporting the youth in the city they’ve called home for the past decade.

Reparations now! Pass HR 40!

Broaden this opening to envision the reparations we need to fully repair and heal African nations and people and increase the participation of our people in making our desperately needed reparations a reality – now!

Bring our courageous elders home, now!

Thousands of people are losing their lives and livelihoods around our planet – from Mozambique to Missouri – due to intense storms, record wind speeds and massive flooding in areas that should not have been developed and other catastrophes caused by the corporate-for-profit-accelerated climate chaos.

Lift Ev’ry Voice … and Act for Reparations Now!

May our Divine Mother-Father Creator of and in All – and Beloved Ancients and Ancestors from yesteryears and yesterdays – find you and (y)our extended Family in sacred Spirit, healing and thriving. WE are hoping to be in the magnificent presence of those of you around the Bay Area soon … possibly, at upcoming events like International Workers’ Day on 1 May (at the Port of Oakland); the 19th Annual MALCOLM X Jazz & Art Fest on 18 May (at San Antonio Park, Oakland); African Liberation Day on 25 May (in Oakland); and other venues. Asé.

If Black lives truly matter … then Afrikans deserve reparations!

Greetings of imani (faith), esteemed G-o-ds, May our Divine Creator of and in all – and beloved ancestors from yesteryear and yesterday – find you and (y)our extended family in healing spirit. Asé. Amen. We joyously welcome and fully support Baba Troy Williams as the new editor of our San Francisco Bay View (SFBV) newspaper. Baba Troy brings a wealth of valuable experience in uplifting community members and skills in developing innovative media, from inside and outside the prison walls.

Food justice: an interview wit’ food activist and musician AshEl

AshEl is a food-based activist who has been heightening consciousness for years in the Bay about what we put in our bodies. We have to use everything that we have to inform and educate our people about how our body works – young people especially. I salute AshEl on his valiant quest to keep us in the know about how these corporations are trying to kill us from the inside out.
