Africans Deserve Reparations! Cause, Black Lives Truly Matter!
Greetings of IMANI (FAITH) Esteemed G-o-ds and Sister-Brother Leaders,
May our Divine Mother-Father Creator of and in All – and Beloved Ancients and Ancestors from yesteryears and yesterday – find you and (y)our extended Relations thriving and healing.
In these moments, WE are remembering and offering our Gratitude to several incredible Souls who have recently transformed to the Spiritual realm. They include my dear friend from childhood-to-adulthood, ROY MINGO from kansas city in the state of misery; Queen Mama SYBIL WILLIAMS-CLARKE, beloved educator, activist and wife of our great teacher Dr. JOHN HENRIK CLARKE, in harlem new york; Rev. Dr. CLAY EVANS, in chicago; Attorney MUSTAPHA BEY here in the east bay; and, our inspiring Elder MURRAY MUHAMMAD, former owner of the When Harlem Was in Vogue marketplace in downtown oakland. Wa-Alaikum-Salaam (Peace Be Upon You, in Arabic) to these new Ancestors, their families and all who loved them. Asé.
Our hearts are open to Queen Mother Mercedes Rodriquez, and family, a dear friend and West Oakland commUNITY leader, on achieving some sacred closure in finally securing the identity, arrest and jailing of the murderer of her dear daughter, AMEENAH NAFEESAH ROSHIMA SCOTT. An honor student at McClymonds High, Ameenah was kidnapped, tortured and killed in 1981, at the young age of 16. The public announcement and offering of healing prayers was made at the annual McClymonds Reunion in Bobby Hutton Park, aka Defremery. There is also now a special bench at Lake Merritt gifted to the memory of our beloved Ameenah. Asé.
In addition, this December 4th marks half-a-century, 50 years since illinois Black Panther Party Chairman FRED HAMPTON and Defense Captain MARK CLARK were assassinated. They were criminally drugged and shot multiple times in their sleep, by the admittedly-murderous usa federal government in collusion with the kkkiller police mafioso in chicago and cook county. But, as Chairman Fred often taught so profoundly: “You might kill a revolutionary. But you can’t kill a revolution!” Asé.
Long Live the Incredible Spirits and impactful contributions of these and All Our Beloved Ancestors.
NOTE: On Sunday, 8 December 2019, 4 pm, Attorney Jeffrey Haas of Chicago will present his new book, “The Assassination of Fred Hampton” during the Howard Zinn Book Fair at San Francisco City College Mission Campus, located at 1125 Valencia. Also presenting will be Baba Emory Douglas, Minister of Culture for the Black Panther Party; and, Freedom Archives.
WE offer CONGRATS to our great Elder Bill Russell, another McClymonds High graduate and one of the greatest team sports champions ever. Recently, Mr. Russell accepted his “Hall of Fame” ring, which he refused in 1975. He took this action nearly four and a half decades ago because he felt the white-run “HoF” should have honored CHARLES “CHUCK” COOPER, the first person of African ancestry drafted into the then “whites-only” NBA, in 1950.
Please support our Bay View
As this year comes to an end, WE hope you will consider making a much-needed contribution to our San Francisco Bay View newspaper, place an ad, or take out a subscription for yourself or an incarcerated family member. As expressed before, WE are struggling mightily to keep this voice of liberation in print and distributed FOR FREE throughout the Bay Area and around the united capitalist prison terrorist states – including to numerous penitentiaries where our Bay View is not currently banned due to our radical political stances and giving a voice to the voiceless. Please, please make a year-end, tax-deductible donation ASAP by calling us at 415-671-0789. Or, go to our website at www.sfbayview.com. You can also send contributions of any amount the old-fashioned way by mailing a check or money order to 4917 Third St., San Francisco, CA 94124. Asante Sana (Many Thanks)! Asé.
