2020 hindsight brings corrupted radiation testing into focus at the EPA...
What happened at the Industrial Excess Landfill (IEL) in Ohio wasn’t unique. The handling of the controversial Superfund site in the ‘90s became a turning point in the EPA’s de-evolution from theoretical environmental protector to enabler of polluters, aka “regulatory capture.” Fatally flawed cleanups due to shoddy field work and substandard testing became cover-ups that could happen all over the country – such as at Hunters Point in San Francisco – while citizens were left to live with the toxic consequences.
Perfect storm: First wave of the COVID-19 pandemic crashes in Southeast...
Interstitial lung disease occurs in both COVID-19 infections and in people chronically exposed to air pollution. Little focus has been given to the fact that the disproportionate incidence of COVID-19 cases and deaths occurring in densely populated low income communities of color – like San Francisco’s Bayview Hunters Point 94124 zip code – are contributed to by the co-morbid risk of damage to the same regions of the lung by both toxic air contaminants and the novel coronavirus.
What will Bernie delegates do in Philadelphia?

Ivory Coast and Rwanda: A tale of different reactions from the...
The lessons learned from the U.N. Mapping Exercise report show that even with Rwanda and Uganda’s invasion and occupation of Congo in the last 15 years, political issues have not been resolved by war. The international community should take heed and not engage in military solutions in Ivory Coast to resolve a political dispute.
Hunters Point Shipyard EIR ignores doubled ocean rise predictions with potential...
In December 2009, leading climatologist Dr. James Hansen cited new satellite data doubling or tripling previous sea level rise predictions. Climate change, he said, “is really a moral issue analogous to that faced by Lincoln with slavery,” an apt comparison considering the dangers for peoples of color in the Bayview Hunters Point neighborhood of San Francisco.
