Jasiri X is one of the most famous up and coming conscious artists in the nation who has been making positive noise with his music. Straight out of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Jasiri X has been working with Paradise of the legendary rap group XClan in a community coalition called One Hood.

In this conversation between two young Black men who are passionate about the potential role of radio in the Black community, Minister of Information JR begins: "Rob Redding is one of few Black program directors at a mainstream talk radio station: KMLB in Monroe, Louisiana. He is also syndicated on XM Radio and on Green 960 AM in the Bay Area."

Kathy Hughes, the owner of Radio One, which many in the Black community deem the Black Clear Channel, has issued a clarion call to Black people saying that Conyers' bill will kill Black radio. But the question remains: Is Black radio now in jeopardy or has true Black radio that is accountable to the community been dead for decades?

"Passage of this anti-noose law will be a sign that our state is prepared to confront a visual symbol of America's racist and violent history," said California Assembly Member Wilmer Amina Carter after she introduced a measure that would make it a crime to display a noose in a threatening manner.
