Hiring Black census workers in California could avert an undercount in 2020. Pay is based on location and position. In larger cities like Sacramento, Los Angeles and San Francisco, salaries range anywhere from $17.00 to $30.00 per hour for field representative positions.

Here’s my take on Bay View, the HBCUs and any other Black establishments needing financial help: We, Black America, have way too many Black athletes, entertainers, entrepreneurs etc. for Black establishments to be underfunded.

My revolution begins by supporting the Bay View with a paid subscription, spreading the word about the Bay View newspaper and reading the Bay View!

Ever since the George Zimmerman verdict was read finding him “not guilty” and justice for a murdered Trayvon Martin was denied, there’s been a nationwide outcry for us as a country to sit down and have a serious conversation about race. President Obama encouraged us to have these conversations on race locally at home, amongst friends, at church and amongst our colleagues at work.

But the question remains: Is Black radio now in jeopardy or has true Black radio that is accountable to the community been dead for decades?
