African history does not start with slavery; however, American history does.

Prisons are not the place for the promotion of peace, especially in their maximum security and solitary confinement housing units.

Prisons are both an economic project and a counterinsurgency program. Their neverending goal is to continue “locking people up who are trying to be free.” And a reoccurring theme and recognition of the discussion was that “we can’t destroy prisons without destroying capitalism.”

Assange put corporate states and their armies on notice that they can no longer operate in secret. And the US, with the help of its state-corporate press, put him on notice that they’re coming to get him and that anyone else publishing classified docs could be next.

From a very young age, I was taught by my father who my grandfather was and what he did for our people. He made sure I knew the history of our local and national leaders.

Here’s my take on Bay View, the HBCUs and any other Black establishments needing financial help: We, Black America, have way too many Black athletes, entertainers, entrepreneurs etc. for Black establishments to be underfunded.

The genius in this marvelous production is the way, despite its theology, alternative spiritual systems have their creative way evident in the dance – tango – in culture – Yoruba – and creative soundtrack. Gritty City trains as an ensemble, developing relationships among each other that make it possible for the deep dives and swims along chilly terrain.
